This Scary Flying Monkey Costume from the Wizard of Oz wins the MonkeyADay award for Best Monkey Costume in 2009. Congrats… BuyCostumes, or whoever is responsible. Really, this would make me nervous if someone came to my door wearing this – and usually I’m just scared by clowns.

If you go to a Halloween party this year and you see this costume, punch them in the stomach for us. The Funky Monkey Costume is spectacularly awful.

This is weird costume #2. Sock Monkey costumes I get. Yeah, we all had sock monkeys growing up, blah blah blah. But a Sock Monkey Ballerina? Whatever – I’ve spent so long looking at these, if this one is starting to make sense.
So, this is the first of two costumes that make me say “WTF”? I’ve seen this one before, but what’s the deal with it? Why a gorilla wearing the harem outfit? I don’t know if this if from a TV show or movie or what – but I definitely don’t get it.
Juxtapose this Cymbal Monkey Costume with the Smiling Monkey Full Body Costume from earlier. Sure this one isn’t as nice, and for $39 what do you expect? But get this – it doesn’t come with the cymbals! What’s the point, then? That’s the key to the whole costume! Argh…
This is more of what I was expecting with Dog Monkey Costumes, and it’s still awesome. Admittedly, it looks especially good on the dog in that picture.
I wasn’t sure if I’d find any good pet costumes, but I can’t even try to hide my excitement at finding the Dog Riding Monkey Pet Costume! Obviously this is a take on the fabulous Whiplash, and his trusty steed Bud.
Awesome, just awesome. I might need to get a dog so I can get this costume! Yeeeehaw!
We’re starting Costume Week off with a band, eh? This costume is kind of funny. And it’s only $50.
Finally Halloween is coming, so it’s time to start thinking about your Monkey Costume for the year. All week long we’ll be posting our favorite monkey costumes for adults, kids and pets. Well, I’m hoping we find something for pets. There are no guarantees, but the internet is a big tube so I bet we find some!

I figured I’d do a Google search and try and find a sexy monkey costume or sexy monkey mask. This is the one result I found and… Well, judge for yourself. I put in more of the “holy crap that’s freaky” than the “sexy” category, but to each their own. So now, while I’m trying to scrub that image from my head, I’ll look for some sexy monkey costumes and masks. I just hope they’re a wee bit better than that one!
Oh, and you can go to eBay and buy that mask if you want!
