Winged Monkey Bobblehead

The winged monkeys from Wizard of Oz scared the beejeezus out of me as a kid. They were frightening! Now I can commemorate all that childhood trauma with a bobblehead! Great.

Handmade in Germany, a Steiff monkey is apparently prized by collectors. It’s 6″ tall, and has a soft mohair coat, and is actually kind of cute in a weird way.

We’ve featured a dashboard hula monkey before, but this one is a little cuter. And she has a guitar.

Now’s your chance to get your own Mighty Beanz King Kong Bean. It’s unplayed, apparently. I think that’s a good thing, but I’m not positive about that.

For the monkeyophile that has everything? For the Wizard of Oz collector? For the salt and pepper shakers collector?
Okay, you’ve got me. I have no idea who’d want this.
So, go to eBay, search for “monkey”, order by highest price first, and what do you end up with?

A handmade monkey pod dresser. It’s about 10′ long, and 4 1/2′ wide. Local pickup (in Hawaii) only. And a steal at $24,500.
Okay, so that’s a little out of my price range. What’s next highest? Ahh, a spider monkey diamond brooch.

It’s made from 18k gold, with 5.6 carats of diamonds and ruby eyes. It won the DeBeers Diamonds Today Award, which just means that it meant something to the crooks and swindlers at DeBeers (As an aside, here at MonkeyADay we hate the scam that is the current diamond industry. Buy eco-friendly diamonds, or skip diamonds altogether!)
Irregardless, it’s going for $12,800! That’s too exensive, too. What’s the cheapest monkey auction on eBay right now?

Oh, a Japanese Carved Netsuke Monkey. Currently going for $0.01. The price is right, that’s for sure!
